SERVICE 02

Test the idea
before committing to production.

Design-led rapid prototyping for product development, fit checks, demonstrations and functional testing. We help identify problems early, refine the design and move toward a production-ready result.

Complete project support

Built around the application.
Not just the printer.

PRIMUS 3D combines design thinking, material selection, additive manufacturing and finishing. The result is a considered part or product made for its intended purpose—not an unfinished print that still needs to be resolved.

01

Define the purpose

A useful prototype begins with a clear question. We establish what needs to be tested—size, fit, movement, assembly, appearance or real-world function—before choosing the level of detail and material.

  • Application and constraint review
  • Critical dimension planning
  • Prototype objective definition
02

Build and evaluate

The prototype is manufactured to provide useful physical feedback. It can be checked against mating parts, placed in its intended environment or used to demonstrate the concept to customers and stakeholders.

  • Fit and assembly models
  • Form and presentation prototypes
  • Functional test components
03

Refine the design

What we learn from the physical part is used to improve the geometry, tolerances, material choice or assembly method. Further iterations can then be produced before the design is approved for its next stage.

  • Measured design revisions
  • Repeatable iteration control
  • Preparation for short-run production

Typical applications

Frequently asked

Before we
begin.

How quickly can a prototype be made?+

Timing depends on design readiness, size, material, finish and current workload. Once the requirements and usable design data are reviewed, we provide a realistic production schedule with the quotation.

Can you modify the design after the first prototype?+

Yes. Controlled iteration is a core part of prototyping. Feedback from the first physical part can be used to refine dimensions, fit, geometry or material before another version is produced.

Can the prototype also be the final product?+

In some applications, yes. If the material and manufacturing method suit the operating environment, the same design may progress into an end-use part or short production run.

Can you work confidentially on a new idea?+

Project information is handled as business information and shared only as required to complete the work. If a formal confidentiality agreement is required, mention this before sending sensitive design details.

Start with what you have

A sketch, sample or idea
is enough to begin.

Send us your requirements, measurements, reference photos, drawings or 3D files. We will help define the most practical route forward.
