CAD design and reverse-engineering support for customers who have an idea, drawing, photograph, set of measurements or physical sample—but not yet a production-ready 3D file.
Built around the application. Not just the printer.
PRIMUS 3D combines design thinking, material selection, additive manufacturing and finishing. The result is a considered part or product made for its intended purpose—not an unfinished print that still needs to be resolved.
01
Capture the requirement
We begin with the part or product's purpose, interfaces, critical dimensions and operating conditions. A physical sample, sketch, drawing, reference image or measurements can provide the starting point.
Sample and reference review
Critical-dimension planning
Application and constraint capture
02
Build the CAD model
The geometry is recreated or developed as a controlled digital model. Fit, wall thickness, fastening, clearances and the intended manufacturing process are considered as part of the design—not left until after printing.

03
Validate before production
Where required, a physical prototype can be manufactured and checked before the final part or short run is approved. Findings are used to refine dimensions, strength, material choice and assembly.
Prototype fit checks
Measured revisions
Production-ready preparation
Typical applications
Practical possibilities. Purpose-led results.
Every project is assessed individually. Geometry, finish, operating environment, quantity and material requirements guide the manufacturing route.

Frequently asked
Before we begin.
Can you recreate a part without an existing 3D file?+
Often, yes. A usable sample, clear photographs, measurements and information about the part's purpose can provide the starting point. We first assess whether the geometry and application are suitable.
Do you provide the CAD file?+
File ownership and handover are agreed in the quotation because requirements differ between a design-only project and a complete design-and-manufacture service.
Can the recreated part be improved?+
Yes, where practical. Weak areas, fastening, wall thickness or fit can be revised instead of automatically copying a known failure, subject to the surrounding assembly and operating conditions.
What should I bring for reverse engineering?+
Bring the original part where possible, plus the item it fits into or clear installation photographs. Include critical dimensions and information about heat, load, chemicals, movement and outdoor exposure.
Start with what you have
A sketch, sample or idea is enough to begin.
Send us your requirements, measurements, reference photos, drawings or 3D files. We will help define the most practical route forward.
